Denver Audubon

Denver Audubon has worked since 1969 to inspire actions that protect birds, other wildlife, and their habitats through education, conservation, and research, with its work focused on the Denver metro area. As an independent chapter of the National Audubon Society, the organization shapes its own local priorities, running community science programs such as the Christmas Bird Count, the Great Backyard Bird Count, and Winter Raptor Surveys, plus a dedicated program protecting the white tailed ptarmigan. Denver Audubon also operates the Kingery Nature Center in Littleton, Colorado.

Denver Audubon protects birds and habitat across the Denver metro area through the same hands on, education first approach our guides bring to the field. Our Nebraska Spring Magic expedition begins and ends in Denver, where travelers do that same close, patient reading of bird behavior at the Platte River crane roosts.
