Sheridan Samano
Sheridan Samano is a wildlife enthusiast, guide, and co-founder of Her Wild Life Expeditions. Her passion for animals began as a child, flipping through National Geographic magazines, and has only grown since then. Sheridan holds a bachelor’s degree in wildlife and fisheries science and a master’s in biology. Her guiding journey began when she launched a study abroad program focused on sea turtle conservation in Costa Rica. In the field, Sheridan’s ability to spot a break in the pattern and quickly adapt leads to plenty of “wows” from the guests in her groups. When she’s not traveling, you’ll find her along a trail in Colorado with her family, searching for something feathered or furred, or enjoying a local craft beer after a day in the field. Her favorite animal? The cheetah.

This was my first trip to Nebraska, and seeing the country from the comfort of the van was great. The sandhill migration is absolutely amazing and beautiful. The prairie-chicken viewing was an additional bonus. Traveling with Sheridan as a guide is always a positive experience—-she is organized and SO knowledgeable!

This was such an amazing experience. Sheridan is so capable, so knowledgeable about the birds and the community resources along the way. The small group and Sheridan's respect of each of our wants and needs made for such a relaxing trip. Also, Sheridan's respect for the wildlife and the people and businesses in the communities was a model for how to journey in the world. Her local sources for sandhill crane watching and greater prairie chicken leks made it very special. I'm still basking in the total experience. Laurie

Tornados of sandhill cranes surrounding us near North Platte. The magic of dawn on a Greater Prairie Chicken Lek full of booming, foot stomping and sparring. The best of nature experienced with great traveling companions. Comfortable riding and viewing on the Roaming Bison Safari Vehicle. Every detail taken care of- Sheridan you are amazing.

Lucky to be in a group especially Sheridan and other birders. everyone was so helpful and fun I truly learned a lot as a newbie. Accomodations fine! Always too much food but good. Sheridan is so knowledgeable and has the vision of noone else. Appreciate how on the ball and accommodating she was.

My second time signing up for this trip and it fulfilled all my wildest hopes for finding so many unique owl species. We were thrilled to spend time and photograph 7 different species in the 6 days of the trip. Not to mention all the fun smaller birds (super cute Red Pols, Cross bills and Grosbeaks) and exciting mammals (pine marten!). Sheridan had our mojo going and an amazing travel group rounded out a wonderful adventure (despite sub zero temps - who noticed?)

This was a wonderful trip. The sights were incredible, the animals amazing, the guiding outstanding and the company congenial and fun. Our accommodations were all quite nice with enchanting scenery. We appreciated staying 2 nights in each place and not having to move every day. Sheridan and Pam were a great team and made sure everyone was comfortable and accommodated in every way. We came away with great memories of a great adventure. It was more than we had hoped for!
